I'm a front end developer who has spent time as a print and web designer over the years. You'll find I'm a lot more affable and better at communicating than the average developer. Like most folks of my breed I love investigating new technologies, and I love a good challenge.
My responsibilities at NYU have included both development and helping to assist other departments in meeting their needs on our website. Day to day I build, update and style components in our CMS, Day CQ (now Adobe CQ), track down and manage bugs, self project manage, investigate and QA cross-browser issues, and research new technologies for incorporation into our site. Technologies I have utilized at this position include HTML & CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, Java, Firebug, Adobe CQ, OpenCMS, & Photoshop.
Work as both a web designer and web developer on various projects for small businesses and agencies, often creating the site from scratch. Chief responsibilities include identifying the emerging technologies that will best serve the client, crafting websites which match any existing branding, creating websites that look current and up-to-date without seeming gimmicky, and learning any new coding techniques required without assistance. Technologies used include using HTML, CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript, PHP, Wordpress, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and others. Clients have included Terradon Communications, Morgado Design, AGENCYSACKS, BONGARBIZ Entertainment, and HealthIsEverything.com.
Produced pages from mockups for a high-traffic cable network TV site to precise standards. Gave particular attention to SEO and performance and using as few CSS hacks as possible. Carefully checked all pages for cross-platform compatibility. Technologies used included HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Microsoft Sharepoint, Teamsite, Adobe Photoshop, Flash, and others.
Designed and developed UIs for web applications for web startup. Ensured that each UI followed the established look and feel for the site & brand. Incorporated numerous cross-browser features while maintaining a user-friendly UI. Streamlined code to minimize resource use, and used techniques such as sprites to increase performance. Web applications I worked on included photo manipulation and display, a message client, home pages for different sections and a travel application. Technologies used included HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Scriptaculous and Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, etc.
Designed a wide variety of print and web projects for this advertising agency. These included website design, banner ads, e-newsletters, brochures, book design, identity and logo design, signage, many more. Managed multiple projects and a strict schedule, prepared designs for press. Utilized Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Quark XPress, and others.
